Honours Program
The Honours Program is a formalised system of enrichment and extension work. It is an outstanding opportunity for students to develop their skills and knowledge at a high academic standard in an area of particular interest. Each student accepted into the program will be expected to demonstrate high level capacity to work in an independent manner. Entry to the Honours Program will only be available to those students who are chosen through a clearly defined nomination process.
The Honours Program involves students attending special small group classes on a regular basis and completing extra work in their own time outside of their timetabled lessons. The program is a central part of our Gifted and Talented program at Shoalhaven Anglican School.
As the Honours Program is an entirely voluntary program, inclusion in the program is a privilege. Students have a serious responsibility to make a conscientious effort to keep up with the demands of the course; students are also responsible to ensure their regular academic program is maintained at an appropriately high level.
Students are limited to attempting Honours in one subject per semester. Honours grades will appear on semester reports. It is assumed that students will produce core, class work of a superior standard while doing Honours in the same subject area.
