Chaplaincy

picture of Milton Anglican church

Christian faith is important to the life of our School. All students participate in Christian Studies as a compulsory part of the curriculum, as well as attend Chapel services held at the School. From time to time, Chapel services are also held at the Anglican Church of St Peter’s and St Paul’s, Milton. This church, consecrated in 1860, is one of the most significant local historical landmarks, and the School’s use of the Church enables us to identify with the longstanding presence of Christian worship and presence within the local community. stainglass window

We encourage students to value a spiritual view of life. They are encouraged to explore and reflect on their own views, as well as to consider Christian faith. A voluntary Christian student group meets weekly during lunchtime (Wednesdays).

The School’s Honorary Chaplain is Rev Geoff Deutscher, Rector of the parish of Ulladulla and Sussex Inlet. The Assistant to the Chaplain, Mr Doug Knight, is available at the School on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Both Rev Deutscher and Mr Knight are available to talk with students, parents and staff; it might be for a sensitive, confidential discussion, or perhaps just a friendly, listening ear with whom to share.

We enjoy close relationship with St Martin’s Anglican Church and are part of the Anglican Church Diocese of Sydney.
