Our Goals

GumNut pre-kinder’s goals are to achieve the five prescribed outcomes set down in the ‘Early Years Learning Framework: Belonging, Being, Becoming’GumNut pre-kinder’s goals are to achieve the five prescribed outcomes set down in the ‘Early Years Learning Framework: Belonging, Being, Becoming’, which require:

  1. Children to have a strong sense of identity
  2. Children to be connected with and contribute to their world
  3. Children to have a strong sense of wellbeing
  4. Children to be confident and involved learners
  5. Children to be effective communicators,

To achieve these goals we aim to:

  • Provide the highest possible standard of care and education for all children,
  • Use the child’s interests as a tool for learning, thus providing opportunities for child initiated experiences,
  • Provide an environment that allows each child to achieve their potential through song, dance, drama, craft, play drawings and paintings,
  • Assist and encourage the exploration of their environment,
  • Encourage children to see themselves as constructive contributors to the community,
  • Develop social and emotional well-being through the promotion of social justice and equity and embracing diversity,
  • Work in partnership with families for the care and education of their child,
  • Value and encouraging parent’s contributions and participation in the common goals and purpose both within and outside the centre,
  • Empower children in their explorations by encouraging curiosity, praising all attempts, building upon their strengths and embracing cultural diversity,
  • Assist children in recognising uniqueness in themselves and their peers,
  • Allow staff practices to stimulate discussion, encourage spontaneity and playful, creative thinking, and
  • Establish a warm nurturing environment where children can feel safe and secure enabling them to build trusting relationships with their carers.
