Enrichment

Shoalhaven Anglican School is committed to meeting the individual needs of all students. Every student has individual strengths and it is important to identify and foster these strengths. Our Enrichment programs strive to challenge students who show talents in any area including academic, social, leadership, music or sporting. The Enrichment Programs within the school are coordinated by the Learning Support and Enrichment Mentor in collaboration with classroom and subject teachers.

Students are selected for these programs based on their school reports, teacher/parent recommendation, Basic Skills Tests, Behavioural Checklists and National Competition Results.

The School offers an umbrella of options depending on individual needs. They may include

  • Offering differentiated lessons and differentiated units or programs that provide experiences which challenge learners at their differing levels of development
  • Rich Tasks for small groups where students have the opportunity to explore concepts with a range of Higher Order Thinking Activities
  • Debating Competitions with other local schools
  • Graded classes in some subjects from year 3 onwards
  • Acceleration in one or more subjects
  • Special Programs such as the Excellence Expo where all students in the Middle School have the opportunity to display their best work
  • Interact Club sponsored by local Rotary Groups which giving students aged 14 and above older an opportunity to organise and run a non profit organisation and fundraise for local and International Charities.
