Creative Arts Achievements

Shoalhaven Anglican School has considerable strength in creative and performing arts, both within the curriculum and through a number of opportunities beyond the classroom.

Over the last few years, the School has produced numerous winners and high achievers in the Shoalhaven City Eisteddfod in both music and drama. The School provided nearly half the acts for the inaugural South Coast Musical Society’s Mostly Mozart concert, a feat all the more significant on account of the audition-based method of selection into the concert. Several of the School’s music groups are asked regularly to perform at civic functions throughout the district.

In 2007, the School won the Macquarie University Greek Drama festival for the fourth successive year, in the process defeating some of Sydney’s most prestigious schools.

Four students have successfully exhibited in national art competitions over the last two years.

Several students have won scholarships in the fields of music, drama and visual art to further their studies.

Macquarie University Greek Drama Festival winners for 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

In 2007, the School performed the play, 'The Adventures of Tom Jones', a romantic comedy set in 18th century England, to a sold out audience.

In March 2008, students will perform the play The Servant of Two Masters- a comedy by Carlo Goldoni in the Historic Milton Theatre. The Servant of Two Masters was written in Italy in 1743.
