Academic Achievements

Shoalhaven Anglican School, an academically non-selective school, has established a strong academic tradition in its short history. As a small School, we are proud to offer a broad curriculum and help students set and achieve high achievement goals. Each year, the majority of our graduating students secure positions at tertiary institutions across NSW and beyond.

In 2007, the School enjoyed outstanding academic success across all levels of the School:
Years 3 and 5 Basic Skills Test
- 16% above the NSW average
Year 7 and 8 ELLA (Literacy) and SNAP (Numeracy) tests
- 93% of all results at High or Proficient level (compared to 86% across NSW)
School Certificate results
- 43% of all results at 80 or above (compared to 33% for NSW)
- 49% English (Literacy) results were 80 or higher
Higher School Certificate results
- 77% of all 2 Unit results over 70 (compared with 65% across NSW);
- Average result for all subjects = 77%
University Admissions Index
- Dux for 2007 was Marita Smith with 97.60, closely followed by Shae Mitchell (97.45)
- Nearly 1/3 of UAIs were 80.00 or higher

Graduates from 2007 have been accepted to study courses at the Australian National University, the University of Sydney, the University of New South Wales, Wollongong University and Charles Sturt University

Support for students with special learning needs has also assisted them with these public examinations; in 2007, no student achieved a School Certificate or Higher School Certificate result less than 50.
